Born in Gatineau , in the province of Quebec in Canada, Sylvain Simard, a tribute artist for the Ottawa region in Ontario, Canada, has more than 25 years experience in  music entertainment.  His retro musical style, his voice and charisma reminds us of the great and memorable musical time of the 50s, 60s and 70s.

 

Sylvain’s career has been crowned by many titles and nominations in light of  his great talent in music entertainment.  His artistic years are comprised of  the following

 

2010-11  many engagements in the Ottawa and Gatineau area in banquet halls and restaurants and other club associations and local foundraising

 

2009 ******  UPDATE ***  2nd Place in Elvis Contest in Victoriaville

 

 

2008 :  in Concert for many special events also in different Night Clubs and Restaurants  in the Province of Ontario and Quebec in Canada   

 

August 2007:   Was presented with the Peoples' Choice Award at the Hilton  &  Casino ( Lac Leamy), Gatineau (Quebec) for an outstanding performance. Afterwards, the Casino brought him back to perform  in concert for 3 consecutive nights ,giving 4 shows a night, during the Elvis Week in August.   

June 2007: Gave an outbreaking performance at the Victoriaville Retro Festival during an outdoor major event in front of an audience of 10,000 individuals.  

 

2006:  Performed at many events in both Quebec and Ontario  -including his performance at the Elvis Festival in Collingwood to a audience of 25,000. At this time, he met Suzanna Leigh & Cynthia Pepper , co-stars of 2 Elvis Movies entitled Paradise Hawaiian Style & Kissing Cousin.

 

2005: Performed in many events in Quebec & Ontario. During the course of that same year, his DVD and new album, including 24 great songs was released.

 

2004: Gave a concert from July until September  inclusively, at the Summer  Festival in Mont-Tremblant in the Great Larentians.

 

2002: Concert were given all over Quebec and Ontario for the 25th Commemorative Elvis Tribute at the time.

 

2000: Participated in major events and won 3rd place at the Canadian Elvis Tribute in Toronto. Sylvain would represent Quebec and compete with 27 other tribute artists.

 

1998: Fifth successive involment in the Téléthon de l'Espoir and a performance à la Maison de la Culture in Gatineau. In August, he won the title of "Elvis Ambassador of Quebec" at the Retro-Festival in St-Hyacinthe. In October, he appeared in the very popular french movie : Elvis Gratton 2 and also released

his first album entitled: Depuis Toujours.

 

1997:   Appeared in the Montreal Showcase “Convention Elvis Mania” with the Orchestra “Les Mannys”.  Sylvain was accompanied by the “Jordanaire” and Elvis Presley’s original drummer, D.J. Fontana.

 

1996:   Performed at the Super Ex in Ottawa for the entire running of the Exhibition.

 

1993:                   Participated in an Elvis Promotion with the radio station CJRC 1150 AM.  Sylvain animated the local TV Show “Let’s Talk Country”. First year involvement with the Téléthon de l’Espoir. During the year, he worked on a promotion with HMV Music Centre Canada.

 

1992:                    Sylvain obtained a contract with Club Tennessee in Gatineau to perform several shows.  He was privileged to work with and meet artists such as David Scott, Johnny Farago and many others.

 

1990                    First recipient of the inter-provincial contest “Search for Elvis” organized with the radio station W1310 AM.  In November, Sylvain had the opportunity to perform at the Heartbreak Hotel in Memphis, Tennessee and having a private tour of Graceland the home of  Elvis also during that tour he was allowed to get some photo inside the house and meet close friends of Elvis such as Joe Esposito ,Lamar Fike , and Al Dvorin
